Design Challenge

The challenge was to create a line of interior decorations that would appeal to those who are literary enthusiasts. These people are avid  readers who like, and delve into, classic literature. Current competitors include the product lines at large retail stores  like  Wal-mart or Target that carry popular interior decorations, or websites like “thinkgeek.com” that specialize in items geared toward persons involved in nerd “culture.” The target audience, aside from being a heavy reader is also a twenty to thirty year old who enjoys minimalism and sees white space as more than just a blank space.

Design Solution

The solution was to take quotes from the classic novel “Jane Eyre” by Charlotte Bronte and arrange the passage in such a way that the meaning is communicated without reading it. It is these typographic solutions that are printed onto different items. The images are kept in black and white to further press the feeling of words printed on paper.
